I know this is old, but I found the solution and I hope it helps someone. When you click "save as" select "save on my computer" and in the save window, for "save as type" select PDF and below that there is a button that says, "save cloud document" select that. By @Veronica5CE1 That will not work. It will then change the file type to AIC

You have a path selected. You need to do Object > Rasterize, which turns the path into an embedded image.

Does the link to the online help show up in your Discover panel? And most importantly: can you download the file from there? If not, does it work in a different browser? Because you would be wasting precious time in your studies if you always have to wait for someone to download it for you.

Thank you! The Discover panel is the Learn panel. They have renamend this so oftem I cannot keep up. Sorry. That second tutorial has a link at the bottom, which opens a help page with the tutorial, which then has the link to the file. Too complicated ... you're right. That is like following Ariadne around. Where are those tutorials located? That is important to know, because they might work differently based on that. If it's in the Learn panel, then it should just open the file when you start the tutorial. The Learn panel stays open and you can work on the file. On the Helpx this might be different. On the Adobe blog again different. But also: sometimes those downloads don't work. If the thing is on the web, you can try a different browser, but that doesn't always work either. So: do you have some more details?

Select the object. Choose the Live paint tool. Select the red color Click once into the lion to make it into a live paint object Triple click one of the parts that are still unfilled to fill all other unfilled parts. Expand if you need to.

Which version, which system? Exactly where do you save files? How large are your usual files? What's in the files? Do you have a printer set up and turned on? Is Save in background turned on in the preferences and does it get better when you turn it off?

In your question which popups are you referring to? Are you referring to the rich tool tips? Or something else? Generally there are some rare cases in which Illustrator doesn't install correctly or shoots itself in the foot, so you can sheck out whether resetting the prefs helps.
